This athame, perfect for traditional witchcraft, ceremonial high magick  and wicca was crafted from a single piece of copper bar. 8 inches in total length, of which the blade is 4 inches.

The chevron tipped blade has been detailed with Paul's signature Cratered finish to resemble and suggest the moon.

The handle is hand gathered and carved Elder. Elder is one of the most sacred goddess trees in witchcraft. In wicca it is one of the sacred nine woods, and the only one that must never be burned. Sacred to all Luna goddesses it is known as the tree of life and death. There is an old English rhyme that must be spoken before cutting Elder to avoid being cursed.

Paul cuts all the wood himself. He asks and blesses the tree first and assures the tree that it’s gift will be used to create beautiful heirloom ritual tools. The tree is cut with sharp tree snips to ensure the tree is not damaged and will continue to thrive. After a year or more of seasoning, Paul hand carves the handles himself and sands them to a fine furniture finish of 400 grit. The handle is then oiled with our Luna Ignis anointing oils to make the grain pop and to protect the wood.

Unique hand made heirloom quality athame by our pagan blacksmith. Paul is a practitioner of traditional witchcraft and ceremonial magick.

Copper is sacred to all goddesses of love, fertility, sex, lust and healing! Copper is warm and gorgeous and sensual. Sacred to Aphrodite, Venus, Hathor, Freya and all goddesses of love and fertility! The perfect goddess athame for followers of the goddesses of love. Perfect for rituals and spells of healing, love, self love, regeneration, recovery, lust and desire!

In Ceremonial magick and some witchcraft traditions the dagger or athame represents the element of air and therefore used to control, banish, or destroy.

In some Wicca traditions the athame represents the element of fire and is perfect for a weapon of manifestation and circle casting.
